For generations, the cowboy way of life has been woven into the story of Bastrop County. From the early vaqueros who first worked this land to the cattle drives that crossed Central Texas and the enduring tradition of Juneteenth Rodeos, our community's western heritage continues to inspire today. Cowboy Heritage Day at the Bastrop County Museum & Visitor Center invites families, neighbors, and visitors to celebrate that legacy through live demonstrations, historic photographs and artifacts, cowboy stories and songs, and hands-on activities for all ages. Join us as we honor the people, traditions, and stories that continue to define the spirit of Bastrop County.
