The Bush Family Home State Historic Site is holding their annual Children’s Health Fair, in honor of Robin Bush on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. They have arranged activities that promote fun, active lifestyles to not only encourage a healthy lifestyle, but also allow kids like Robin to do what kids do best; have fun. Demonstrations include martial arts, dancing, yoga and more.

Pauline Robinson “Robin” Bush was the daughter and second-born child of George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. Unfortunately, at just three years old, Robin Bush was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away from the disease just two months before her fourth birthday.

“We hope that we can inspire a healthier community and a healthier world!” says Educator Erin Frigo.

The event is being held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is an annual observance dedicated to highlighting the impact of pediatric cancer and raising funds for research, treatment, and family support. The Bush Family Home uses the month to reflect on the Bush Family’s memories of the child they lost to leukemia while they lived at the home on West Ohio Street.

The Bush Family Home State Historic Site is located at 1412 West Ohio St. in Midland. The hours for the home are: Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; the last tour begins at 4:15 p.m. The Bush Family Home joined the Texas Historical Commission in 2023 and is one of 42 sites in the state of Texas.
