Between October 6 and November 9, 2026, shortly after Ranger College's Centennial celebration, Ranger

College's Golemon Library will host America250 at Ranger College by exhibiting the Texas America250

Traveling Exhibit, curated by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). Generously donated

by the Ranger City Library, this collaborative effort is a unique opportunity to expand the exhibit's reach

beyond the citizens of Ranger, Texas, to the broader Ranger College community and surrounding region. The

Golemon Library serves a diverse audience that includes dual-credit and on-campus students, faculty and

staff, alumni, community members, and residents throughout the surrounding counties. The exhibit's timing

is especially meaningful, as Ranger College celebrated not only its 50th anniversary in 1976, but also the

nation's Bicentennial, as documented in the College's 1976 yearbook. In keeping with tradition, of

commemorating these shared milestones, Ranger College seeks once again to engage this expansive

community in reflecting upon both local and national history. The Texas America250 Traveling Exhibit

replicates the America250 exhibit displayed in TSLAC's main lobby, which features historically significant

artifacts, documents, and state records from TSLAC's collections. In bringing these resources to a rural Texas

community, this program will increase public access to Texas history, encourage lifelong learning, and foster

greater appreciation for the people, events, and records that have shaped both Texas and the nation over the

past 250 years.
