Milam Park is a city park formerly known as Plaza del Zacate, a landmark in San Antonio's historically Hispanic west side barrio. Mexican American labor rights activist Emma Tenayuca frequented the park, where soapbox speakers in the 1930s advocated for social change and discussed current events in Mexico and the United States. A historical marker in her name is situated along the park trail. Today, Milam Park features several amenities and historical markers, including the distinctive "Jalisco Pavilion" gazebo and a memorial to Benjamin Rush Milam, a military leader during the Texas Revolution.
