Levelland, a Texas Main Street city, is “Living La Vida Mosaic.” As the states official City of Mosaics, Levelland touts over 100 mosaic art pieces throughout the city of 13,000 residents. Downtown boasts nine beautiful blocks with over 20 retail locations for your shopping pleasure, planters spilling over with color, conveniently located mosaic handrails for accessibility, and benches handily spaced throughout the district. As the county seat, Levelland is proud to have the historic Hockley County Courthouse as its centerpiece. In addition, the city has self-guided historic and mosaic walking tours for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.

Even though by Texas standards, Levelland is a fairly young community, surveyed in 1912 but developed in 1921, the city wasted little time in advancing the interests of both the county and its residents. Today, Levelland hosts festivities and programs year-round designed to celebrate its history, culture, and community.

Annual highlights include: 3rd Thursday Food & Food Truck (monthly) downtown, 1st Saturday Shop the Square, Lemonade Day, Sip and Swirl Around the World, Cotton & Crude Music Festival, Trunk or Treat on Main Street and Christmas on the Square.
