Margaret Pease Harper

Margaret Pease Harper (1911-1991) was an educator, musician, and cultural leader whose vision helped create one of Texas’s most iconic performing arts traditions.

After settling in Canyon, Texas, Harper played a central role in developing the outdoor musical Texas, using the landscape of Palo Duro Canyon to bring the history and spirit of the Texas Panhandle to life.
