Join Preservation Georgetown for an engaging evening of history, storytelling, and discovery as part of its Spring Lecture Series.

Titled “Who Put the ‘George’ in Georgetown?” this lecture will explore the origins of the city’s name and the individual who helped shape its early identity. Led by Preservation Georgetown President Alton Martin, the presentation offers a deeper look into the people and stories that laid the foundation for the community we know today.

This special event will take place inside the historic Benold Home—an important Georgetown residence connected to a family known for generations of civic leadership, educational influence, and community service. The setting itself adds meaning to the experience, offering guests the opportunity to learn about Georgetown’s past while surrounded by a place that reflects its legacy.

Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the lecture beginning at 6:30 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM.

This event is free and open to the community.

Hosted by Preservation Georgetown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the historic places, stories, and heritage of Georgetown, Texas.
