Preservation Georgetown Historic Home Tour
December 12, 2026
Second weekend in December
Dear Brazos Trail Readers,
This December, one of Texas’ most picturesque historic communities offers travelers a wonderful reason to make a weekend of it.
Preservation Georgetown’s 2026 Historic Home Tour, December 12–13, invites visitors inside some of Georgetown’s distinctive historic homes while providing the perfect centerpiece for a holiday weekend in one of Central Texas’ most inviting destinations.
Just 30 miles north of Austin, Georgetown is home to “The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas.” Its beautifully preserved historic architecture surrounds a lively, walkable downtown filled with locally owned restaurants, shops, galleries, and gathering places—all especially inviting during the holiday season.
The Historic Home Tour allows visitors to experience Georgetown’s history from the inside. Guests can step through the doors of remarkable historic homes, learn their stories, appreciate their architecture and craftsmanship, and see firsthand why preservation remains such an important part of Georgetown’s character.
But the experience goes well beyond the Home Tour.
Visitors can arrive Friday and turn the tour into a full weekend getaway. Stay at a local inn or hotel, enjoy dinner downtown, stroll the historic square beneath thousands of holiday lights, shop for Christmas gifts, and spend Saturday and Sunday discovering Georgetown’s architecture and history.
The 2026 Preservation Georgetown Historic Home Tour will be held Saturday, December 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, December 13, from noon to 5 p.m.
We believe Georgetown offers Texas Highways readers the ingredients for a memorable Texas holiday getaway:
Come for the Home Tour. Stay for the weekend. Discover historic Georgetown.
Preservation Georgetown would be delighted to provide photography, information about this year’s featured homes, historical background, interviews with homeowners and preservation leaders, and recommendations for accommodations, dining, shopping, and other weekend activities.
We hope Brazos Trail will consider sharing with its readers a holiday weekend in historic Georgetown this December.
