Historic Luckenbach Country School Open House, 250 US Flag History, & BSA Flag Retirement Ceremony
June 13, 2026
The historic Luckenbach Country School is honored to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. This significant milestone will be observed during a special Open House on June 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
A highlight of the event will be the formal and dignified retirement of the US Flag, conducted by the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 280, representing Driftwood, Henly, and Dripping Springs.
Members of the Friends of the Luckenbach Country School and the wider Luckenbach community are invited to submit old, damaged, or worn flags for inclusion in the traditional flag retirement ceremony. All individuals are welcome to attend and observe this significant anniversary, as well as participate in a dignified tribute to the nation’s heritage.
Along with the flag retirement ceremony, attendees can view an educational display on 250 years of US flags. Information offering insights into the Luckenbach Country School and the school's engaging role within the community may also be explored.
