Events on Oct 29, Oct 30, Oct 31, Nov 2, Nov 3, Nov 6 and Nov 7. Times vary by event; full schedule at bgheritagedays.com
Buffalo Gap Heritage Days celebrates history, harvest and frontier life in the heart of the Big Country. It grew out of the Smithsonian's Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit, which Buffalo Gap was honored to host in 2025, and is presented by the Buffalo Gap Chamber of Commerce with the Buffalo Gap Historic Village and the Buffalo Gap Improvement Corporation, along with many neighbors, volunteers and partners.
Highlights include Buffalo Gap Historic Cemetery Tours at 3226 FM 89 (Oct 29 at 5 PM and Nov 2 at 10 AM), a Community Conversation on natural resources (Oct 30), a Scarecrow Festival and Heritage Trick-or-Treat at the Historic Village (Oct 31), a Moody Archives program on local history (Nov 3), the Wildflower Fling for Texas Arbor Day (Nov 6), and a Buffalo Hunters' Camp Reenactment with about 20 re-enactors, an antique tractor show, a small longhorn herd and a farmers' market (Nov 7).
Pillage the Village, an after-dark guided walk through the Historic Village with performers and frontier lore (Oct 30 and 31, ages 12+), is ticketed. Most other events are free and open to all.
