57th Annual Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes
June 6, 2026
Step inside the stories, craftsmanship, and charm that make Waxahachie unforgettable. The 2026 Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes invites visitors to explore the city’s most iconic historic residences and landmark buildings, each one reflecting the character and creativity that shaped this community. For more than fifty years, the Gingerbread Trail has celebrated Waxahachie’s architectural heritage, opening doors to homes that showcase Victorian detail, Craftsman warmth, and the unique spirit of the families who lived within their walls.
This year’s tour continues that tradition with beautifully preserved properties that highlight the artistry, materials, and design that define Waxahachie’s past. Guests can wander through rooms filled with original woodwork, stained glass, and period craftsmanship while learning the stories of the builders, homeowners, and generations who contributed to the city’s rich cultural landscape.
In addition to the daytime tour, visitors may also experience a rare after‑hours event inside the Ellis County Museum, housed in the former Masonic Lodge. Known for its long history and unexplained activity, the museum will host a guided paranormal investigation led by professional researchers. Guests will explore all three floors, review documented evidence, and learn about the building’s haunted reputation in a scientific, engaging format that adds a compelling new dimension to this year’s Gingerbread Trail.
