Website

The Woods House, built in 1899 in Denton's Quakertown community, saw many years of change and survived two moves. Focusing on the mid-20th century, the interpretation inside the house provides historical context of the Civil Rights Movement in Denton County as seen through the eyes of the W.E. Woods family. Topics explore the educational experiences of the Woods family members during the time of segregation/integration, military service, and significant moments of the Civil Rights movement on the national, state, and local level.
