The Original Black’s BBQ got its start in Lockhart as a meat market in 1932. When 2nd Generation Pitmaster Edgar Black took over the helm, Black’s evolved into the beginnings of the restaurant beloved by so many today.
This family business has endured for nearly 100 years, which is a testament to the pride they have in their food and the way they treat their customers.
Black’s Barbecue was designated a Texas Treasure Business in 2022.
