Quality Seafood Market has been an Austin institution since 1938 and its humble beginnings as a stall in Starr's Fruit and Vegetable Market just across the street from the state Capitol.
The restaurant has survived multiple owners and locations over the years. In 1970, Quality moved to its current location on Airport Boulevard. The building was designed to accommodate all three parts of the business - a kitchen, a fresh seafood market, as well as coolers, freezers, and an office for the wholesale operation.
Paul and Carol Huntsberger acquired the business in 2003, and they oversaw several expansions and improvements to the market. Quality Seafood Market is now a place where families can enjoy fresh seafood in the restaurant, at a catered function, or to prepare at home themselves.
