A Downtown Garland landmark since 1941, the Plaza Theatre recalls the golden age of the neighborhood movie house. Dallas architect Jack Corgan designed its distinctive façade in 1950, and the theater was restored and reopened in 2001 after being donated to the City of Garland a decade earlier. he National Register documentation describes the building as Moderne with midcentury elements. Today, the intimate 350-seat venue keeps the show going with concerts, stage productions, film screenings, and special events.
