The City of Victoria and El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association installed interpretive signage at the Mission Nuestra Senora del Espiritu Santo de Zuniga, Tonkawa Bank Site (pictured). The new signage is part of the successful expansion of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail across our state, and improves our understanding of the early American, Spanish, and Mexican travelers, explorers, and traders who blazed this historic route from the border at Eagle Pass and Laredo all the way to Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Tonkawa Bank Site gives visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand the legacy left behind by the first European visitors to our state.
