One of Beaumont's top attractions is the 1906 McFaddin-Ward House, an impressive Neo-Classical mansion with ornamental decorative features and opulent interior furnishings. Named for one of Texas’ oldest and wealthiest families, it was home to William McFaddin, a Texas Army veteran who created a cattle and oil empire from the land he received for his military service. Guided tours provide anecdotal and architectural background about this remarkable home and family.
