Opened in 1972, the Kimbell Art Museum remains one of the world’s finest museum designs (by American architect Louis I. Kahn) and houses one of the world’s finest art collections. Masterpieces from antiquity to the 20th century, including works by El Greco, Cezanne, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Matisse are on display. The museum also regularly hosts major traveling exhibitions. The museum also houses an excellent restaurant and gift shop.
