Open since 2006, this general store in the middle of tiny Marathon, Texas open in the former space of a grocery store that had existed here since around 1980. And as a tribute to the grocery store that operated in Marathon from 1900 to 1972, the owners kept the name of former proprietor, Lucille French. Old locals used to call it French’s, so the name stuck!
