Freeport Historical Museum
Independence Trail Region
Several blocks of early 1900 historic buildings surround the museum in downtown Freeport. Exhibits include maritime history of the area, a model of a swing bridge that was crucial for the area and other historical memorabilia. Enjoy a short show in the Discovery Dome Planetarium, and spend some time in the Children’s Museum portion of the facility.
