Originally opened in 1948 by Ernie Carroll, Ernie's Pit BBQ featured old school desks for seating and a menu featuring only BBQ sandwiches. An expansion under new owner Howard Barrow didn't just improve the building, it expanded the menu as well.
Sold in 2018 to Josh and Krysten Thomas, Ernie's still honors Carroll's legacy with a modern flair.
Ernie's Pit BBQ was designated a Texas Treasure Business in 2022.
