Devil's Backbone Tavern & Dancehall
Hill Country Trail Region
The Devil’s Backbone sits along the rugged landscape between Wimberley and Blanco, a dramatic stretch shaped by geological forces millions of years ago. The site’s first stone building was constructed in the late 1890s as a blacksmith shop and stagecoach stop. The tavern followed in 1937, and the dance hall was added in the 1950s.
