Cattle drivers crossed Brushy Creek in Round Rock on their way to markets in Kansas. At the crossing point, a series of bronze sculptures – crafted by sculptor Jim Thomas – commemorates the Chisholm Trail. Included in these are “The Pioneer Woman” and “The Pioneer Boy,” which honor the memory of Hattie Cluck – one of the first women to complete the Chisholm Trail. Some locals believe deep ruts cut into the bed of Brushy Creek are from wagons that went up the Chisholm Trail. More likely, however, they’re a product of quarrying activity.

The region now holds significant historical interest, attracting various businesses that have renovated and established their shops in these structures. This restoration effort highlights the historic heritage of the City of Round Rock.
