While based in Cherokee County, the theatre serves the greater East Texas by affording opportunities for cultural and artistic enrichment in East Texas by providing a venue for local talent to produce live theatre for the entertainment of diverse audiences, and providing theater education for adults and children.
The Cherokee Civic Theatre present four shows during a performance season that runs from October through April. It offers a youth camp each summer. In between, the theatre travels to schools and other sites to perform, to entertain and to introduce as many people as possible to the delights of live theatre. The auditions are always open to the general public and volunteers are in demand.
