Relax with a cool lemonade on a shaded porch and watch elephants, zebras, and lions roam the realistic East African-style savannah, where natural barriers separate predators and prey. Opened in 1952, the Caldwell Zoo is home to a dozen endangered species, including the cheetahs, ring-tailed lemurs, black-footed penguins and black rhinoceros. Located on 85 beautiful acres, the zoo has more than 2,000 animals to amaze and educate your whole family. You’ll discover animals roaming over plains, swimming in ponds or climbing trees in multi-species environments carefully created to represent their natural North American, South American and East African habitats.
