Spanning three floors of exhibition space featuring over 700 original artifacts, the Bullock Museum presents Texas history – in all its diversity – through interactive and traditional exhibits, documents, and film.

The entire second-floor gallery, titled “The Road to Independence”, focuses on Texas history from 1821 to 1836, including the major battles and events that led to the creation of the Texas Republic, Texas’s struggles as an independent nation, and its transition to the 28th state in the Union.

You’ll even find a re-creation of Stephen F. Austin in his Mexico City jail cell; a realistic replica of the entrance to the Alamo; and a display of the weaponry used throughout the Revolutionary period.
