Back in 1970, Bert and Joyce Johnson opened a small barbeque joint near the University of Texas campus.
The business grew and flourished during the ’70s and ’80s. The Johnson family still owns and operates the restaurant even after Bert died in 1989.
Bert’s Bar-B-Q was designated as a Texas Treasure Business in 2022.
