Do you have films or videotapes at your home or business? Were they filmed in Texas or made by a Texan? Have you ever thought about digitizing them?

The Texas Historical Commission and Rockport Cultural Arts District are teaming up with the Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) for the 2025 Texas Film Round-Up program, and we'll be in Brenham to help you digitize all your old home movies!

Individuals, businesses, and institutions can drop off their Texas-related films and videotapes at the Rockport Little Theatre on Feb. 1, 2025 for FREE digitization in exchange for contributing a digital copy of their materials to TAMI. Professional archivists from TAMI will be set up in person to consult. Films and videotapes submitted to the Round-Up will be digitized at TAMI’s Austin office and returned by mail to the owners, along with a digital copy. To qualify for free digitization, the films and videotapes must be Texas-related, and participants must be willing to donate a digital copy of their materials to the program.

In addition to the in-person film collection, the Rockport Little Theatre will be hosting a special screening of Starring Rockport on February 1 at 1pm.

This event is part of the programming taking place during the run of the Smithsonian's traveling exhibit, “Crossroads: Change in Rural America,” presented in partnership with the Texas Historical Commission. The national exhibit will be on view in the Aransas County Community Center through March 9, 2025. Drop off your videos and stay to see the exhibit!

The Texas Film Round-Up Program is a partnership between the Texas Archive of the Moving and the Texas Film Commission, serving thousands of individuals, businesses, and cultural institutions since 2008.
