The Mission Historical Museum is proud to announce the opening of its latest exhibit, Behind the Scenes of She Came to the Valley, a captivating showcase tracing the transformation of Dr. Cleo Dawson’s acclaimed novel into a beloved feature film.
Running from June 3 through August 22, the exhibit offers visitors a rare opportunity to explore the legacy of this culturally significant story, brought to life on screen by stars such as Ronee Blakley, Dean Stockwell, and Freddy Fender—along with a special cameo appearance by Dr. Dawson herself.
The exhibit features a curated collection of memorabilia, including a signed copy of the book, original film costumes, never-before-seen production stills, and exclusive behind-the-scenes objects. Together, these items reveal the creative journey and lasting regional impact of She Came to the Valley.
