The Heritage Syrup Festival, celebrated annually on the second Saturday of November in Henderson, Texas, offers a unique glimpse into the traditional craft of ribbon cane syrup making. This folk life festival, centered around the Depot Museum, features live demonstrations of antique mule-powered equipment used in syrup production. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of folk arts, live music, and local food, spreading from the museum to Heritage Square in the historic downtown area. The event includes arts and crafts booths, entertainment stages, and a children’s section, making it a culturally rich experience for the whole family.
