The Williamson Museum
Brazos Trail Region
Located in what was once the Farmer’s State Bank, the Williamson Museum's exhibits include a cut-out archeological area covered with glass, revealing a little slice of what was found under the building — artifacts including bottles and bones, remnants of the property’s earlier life as a saloon.
The building itself was opened in 1912 after renovating an existing building to reflect the neo-classical architectural values of the imposing courthouse just across the street. The “new” façade included fluted Corinthian columns, molded surrounds trimming the windows, and decorated escutcheons.
