Williamson County Courthouse
The Williamson County Courthouse is a masterpiece of Classical Revival Beaux Arts styling. The three-story brick and glazed ornamental terracotta edifice replaced five earlier courthouses - including an 1878 elaborate Victorian work.
The restored building you see today survived alterations such as the 1965 demolition of the terra cotta balustrade and pediments; the resplendent copper dome serves as a beacon to approaching traffic since it can be seen from miles away.
The Williamson County Courthouse was restored through the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours are offered on Fridays and Saturdays by the Williamson Museum.
