As the oldest operating “mom and pop” BBQ joint in Tyler, Stanley’s Famous Pit Barbecue has been cooking for over 60 years. The restaurant was founded in 1960 by W.G. “Bill” Watson and is known for its creative sandwiches – both in name and in construction. With names like the Shrove, he Brother-in-Law, the Ex Wife, and the Mother Clucker, customers know they’re in for something special. Stanley’s opened a covered and partially-enclosed patio in 2020 and now plays host to local, regional, and national live music acts.
Stanley’s Famous Pit Barbecue was designated a Texas Treasure Business in 2022.
