The Scurry County Museum is a family friendly place that Scurry County residents and folks “just passing through” can enjoy visiting. Our beautiful permanent exhibit showcases the history of the region, and our South Gallery rotating exhibit hosts a wide variety of additional exhibits, art shows and special events.
Special events include presentations on historical topics, book signings, workshops and guided tours. We may be able to tailor our programs specifically for your school class, club or organization, so if you have something special in mind, please let us know! We’re always eager for community input, and the feedback you provide will help us to better serve you.
The Scurry County Museum is situated on the Western Texas College (WTC) in Snyder, Texas. Designed by a local committee and built during Phase II of the WTC construction in 1974, the museum has enjoyed many years of community support. In addition to our permanent and rotating exhibits, we also have a museum store with Scurry County and Snyder t-shirts, mugs, ornaments as well as books on subjects of local and regional interest.
