San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts
This impressive museum features prominent national and international exhibits and the building itself is considered and architectural masterpiece. Designed by the internationally known Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, perhaps best known for its restoration work at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the building 's dramatic arched roof is especially distinctive. The Museum contains three galleries, a research library, meeting room, education wing, and ceramics studio. Focusing on American ceramics, the permanent collection showcases nearly 200 contemporary pieces, and each year the museum sponsors a major national ceramic competition. Visitors are invited to view the ceramic and painted works housed in storage - another unique oppoprtunity at this one-of-a-kind facility.
