This North Texas museum was the home of one of America’s most legendary politicians, Samuel Taliaferro Rayburn (1882–1961). “Mr. Sam” served 48 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, including 17 as speaker. He shepherded landmark legislation through Congress, including key elements of President Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal,” and was a supporter of U.S. involvement in World War II.
