The Prussian Socialite's House
Independence Trail Region
This property is featured in Historic Overnights: Galveston. The current owners have worked closely with Texas Historical Commission staff to research the history of this home and its original owners.
With Heidenheimer Castle on one end of the block and Trube Castle on the other end, this section of Sealy Avenue was known for its unusual masterworks by Galveston's leading nineteenth-century architects. It comes as no surprise, then, that the original owners of this property, built in 1896, were two prominent businessmen in Galveston at the turn of the century.
