The Pines Theater - Lufkin

The Pines Theater opened in September, 1925 in the era of silent movies when the ticket price was twenty-five cents. It continued to entertain audiences for decades, but was closed in the 1950s. It was sold in the 1980s to serve as a church. The City of Lufkin purchased it in 2007 and renovationed it to be an entertainment center lynchpin for downtown Lufkin. The theater was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
