Old Martin Theater - Pleasant Jamboree
Forest Trail Region
The marvels of moving pictures drew crowds at the opening of the new Martin Theatre on Dec. 15, 1913. The building plan was copied after a Chicago theater. At the time, it was the only theater between Texarkana and Dallas. It was the city's leading movie theater until 1985 when the building was remodeled to accommodate live stage. Since then, audiences have enjoyed Saturday night performances of a live Country/Western stage show with local and area performers.
