Museum of Texas Tech University
The Museum of Texas Tech University offers multiple wings and impressive collections including African sculpture, colorful Latin American pottery and rare pre- Columbian artwork. The museum’s collections contain more than 3 million objects, and the Panhandle region is well represented in exhibits featuring ancient dinosaur fossils from the area and galleries showcasing historic Western art. Temporary and permanent exhibitions in the social and natural sciences, and visual arts are presented in the main building on both the first and second floors. The museum also houses the Moody Planetarium and manages the nearby Lubbock Lake National Historic Landmark.
