Morley Theatre
Plains Trail Region
701 N Main
Borger, TX 79008
“The Morley," as it's known by natives of Borger, was built in 1947 and was designed by Jack Corgan of Dallas, Texas. When it opened, it was showing the film, "Cynthia," starring Elizabeth Taylor.
The theater, which was one of many efforts by the town to revamp its image as a lawless oil boomtown to a modern city, boasted 1200 seats and orchestra and balcony levels.
Today, the theater still features first run films. Its main auditorium has been restored and four more screens have been added in an adjacent building.
