The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Texas’ oldest art museum (founded in 1892), boasts Texas’ newest art museum building, opened in 2002. Embodying the principles of classical Japanese architecture while employing modern Western techniques, celebrated Japanese architect Tadao Ando designed the new Modern to be as artistic as the avant-garde works inside. Showcases masterworks of modern and contemporary American and European art from 1945 to the present, including painting, sculpture, works on paper, and photography.
