Opened in 1959 by Herbert Oyler, Mequite BBQ has always been family owned and operated. Oyler, who also invented the Oyler rotisserie smoker pit, owned the business until his death in 1973 at which time Leon and Katy Crouch took over. Now on the 3rd generation of the Crouch family, Mesquite BBQ continues honor the restaurant’s legacy.
Mesquite BBQ was designated at Texas Treasure Business in 2022.
