The Angelo State University Mayer Museum interprets and exhibits historic, cultural and natural materials that relate to the history and various cultures of the Concho Valley, Texas and beyond.

It is also the new home of the Dr. Ralph R. Chase West Texas Collection, ASU Library’s Special Collections Department dedicated to the study of West Texas history and culture. It houses more than 190 collections chronicling the region’s extensive history. Tejano materials range from handmade spurs dating to the era of Spanish conquistadors in the Joe and Hope Russell Collection to documents revealing Pancho Villa's Mexican Revolution activities in the Williwood Meador Collection, along with more recent local historical collections.
