Some 709 miles of shoreline make Amon G. Carter Lake a fisherman's paradise. Bass are the top species of fish caught at the lake, and ranks in the top ten for large mouth bass population in North Texas. The lake is also known for producing great bream, catfish, and crappie. Amon G. Carter Lake is also prime for skiing, pleasure boating and swimming. There are ample campground facilities at Selma park, Big Sandy Camp, and Hudspeth Beach. It is the perfect place to spend the afternoon or the weekend.
