Homestead Heritage celebrates life as it used to be. The village abounds with handmade crafts and housewares, and local craftsmen offer demonstrations to showcase their work. Some of the great features of Homestead Heritage include a deli with home-grown and home-made treats, a 200 year-old restored barn with great gifts made by the village craftspeople and a circa 1750 Gristmill which grinds fresh whole-wheat flour and corn daily.Visitors can even attend classes to learn craft skills and experience the joy and fulfillment of returning to craft, the art of work. At the log cabin Visitors Center you’ll find information about seasonal activities and special events as well as the various craft courses and teaching seminars offered throughout the year. Thousands flock to this peaceful setting each November for a heritage festival that showcases crafts of yesteryear.
