Anchoring the southwest corner of the downtown square of the "Best Small Town in Texas," the restored Bank Building of Carthage originally built in 1903 houses the Panola County Heritage Museum and the Texas Tea Room. There is also a Caddo Indian display and exhibits and artifacts of Panola County's rich heritage and history.Great food and dining in a wonderful atmosphere await visitors of all ages.

The second story offers a video of Panola County history beginning with the Caddo Indians and ending with the industrial influence which has distinguished the county since the 1940s.

On the third floor, a wall-length mural depicting a Caddo Indian village and relics of early settlers greet visitors. Other exhibits focus on events from the Civil War era as well as the present.
