This library and archive specializes in the collection of literary and cultural artifacts from the U.S. and Europe. The center houses 36 million written manuscripts, five million photographs, more than 100,000 works of art and one million rare books, the most impressive of which is a 15th century Gutenberg Bible. Special exhibitions regularly feature topics related to the center's vast collections.
