The Veteran’s War Memorial is a project funded by the Gladewater Former Students Association and initiated by former students John Paul Tallent and Leon Watson. The dedication took place in September, 2002 with a large crowd in attendance. The Veteran's Memorial is located downtown on East Pacific Avenue.
The memorial is made of four black granite slabs, engraved with names front and back that pay tribute to our local men and women who served in the armed forces from the Civil War to the Persian Gulf War. Soon another stone will be added to honor vets from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
