Note that the size of the square is fairly small which makes the courthouse feel larger in comparison. Unlike some courthouse squares, there is not a broad expanse of lawn. The building dominates the square.
As you walk around the square, notice the number of red brick buildings and streets, which made use of the local red soil as a primary building material.
